Facilitated by Dr Verusca Calabria (Oral History Society UK Trustee).
Volunteers will be interviewing a range of people who have been connected with GIRES from the 1990s to present. You will record these rich and vibrant stories to inform the archive, events and exhibition outputs.
Before starting the interviews, we will give you free training to learn about effective interview techniques, ethics and using recording equipment.
Tasks will include:
Most of the interviews will be recorded online.
You may need to travel to different UK locations to carry out in-person interviews (optional and with additional training); we will of course reimburse your expenses.
As part of your training you will have a short remote project induction session.

This ‘crash course’ requires some self-study & self-initiative. All training resources and supplementary webinars are available online (links provided after successful enrolment).
Interviewing and/or transcribing experience is desirable but not necessary.
