The GIRES Legacy of Kindness archives volunteer team, led by Bishopsgate Institute senior archivists, has been extremely productive over summer.

In early August, the team had an introductory workshop into queer archiving. We learnt more about Bishopsgate and its fantastic collections, and got insights into cataloguing and other archival skills.

We went right into ACTION, hands-on honing our new skills, and started sorting the GIRES physical memorabilia items, ‘the boxes’.

There’s still a lot to do, and we haven’t even started sorting the digital files!
